ATTY. EMILIO BENITO AQUINO

Emilio Benito Aquino is the first CPA-Lawyer appointed as Chairperson and CEO of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). He will serve for a term of seven years. He assumed office last June 7, 2018. He was earlier appointed as SEC Commissioner on December 2, 2016.

After a successful decade-long practice as a CPA Lawyer, he returned to the SEC where he earlier on rose through the ranks to become the youngest Director of its former Prosecution and Enforcement (PED) and Non-Traditional Securities and Instruments (NTD) Departments. He also headed the SEC Davao and Zamboanga Extension Offices where he launched capital market promotion activities as well as
relentless enforcement actions against investment fraud in the countryside. See more

USEC. BLESILA A. LANTAYONA

Prior to her appointment as Undersecretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, Usec. Blesila A. Lantayona was the Assistant Secretary of DTI-Regional Operations Group, in-charge of Kapatid Mentor ME, Shared Service facilities, Industry Cluster Enhancement Project, Great Women Project 2, among others. She holds an MBA Degree in International Business from Ecole Europeenne des
Affaires (European School of Management) in Paris, France. Her career in the civil service started in NEDA Region XI then moved to DTI in various technical positions at first, then as Provincial Director of DTI-Davao del Sur, as Assistant Regional Director of DTI-Region XI and was later appointed as Regional Director of DTI-Region III (Central Luzon). In September 2019, she was appointed as the Supervising Undersecretary of the DTI-Regional Operations Group in-charge of the 16 Regional Offices, 81 Provincial Offices and the Bureau of Small Micro Enterprise Development.

DG Fonacier is the head of the Financial Supervision Sector (FSS), which is mainly responsible for the regulation of banks and other BSP-Supervised Financial Institutions (BSFIs). Under her direct supervision are five subsubsectors which handle onsite examination and offsite surveillance (or integrated supervision) of BSFIs including specialized supervision of specific areas (i.e., anti-money laundering, trust, financial market operations and information technology), credit information system infrastructure, policy studies/research, and supervisory data management. See more

DR. JAIME ARISTOTLE B. ALIP

Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip is a poverty eradication advocate, with more than 35 years of experience in microfinance and social development. He is the founder of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually-Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI), a group of 24 organizations that provide social development services to more than 7.90 million economically-disadvantaged Filipinos and insure more than 23.79 million nationwide. CARD’s innovative financial and enterprise development services targeting the poor has won many accolades, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Public Service in 2008, and for Dr. Alip, the prestigious Ramon V. del Rosario Award for Nation Building in 2019. Dr. Alip is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School, the Southeast Asia Interdisciplinary Development Institute and the University of the Philippines.
